What is your favorite Ice Cream stand?
With the arrival of the warm weather comes the luxury of visiting your favorite local Ice Cream stand. Two of the oldest stands which make their own ice cream, are Kimball’s Farm in Westford, and Richardson’s Dairies in Middleton. According to their website Kimball’s farm began selling dairy in 1939 when they turned their wood shed into an ice cream parlor. Today Kimball’s has four locations where their homemade ice cream can be purchased. Although the Richardson family of Middleton has been farming since the early 1600’s, it wasn’t until 1952 they ventured into the Ice Cream Business. Then in 1978 they ventured into the wholesale ice cream business. If your favorite Ice Cream stand doesn’t make their own ice cream, its a good chance it comes from Richardson’s.
